Privacy policy

CATS vs GOATS is an independent Twitch channel, and this is its site. Privacy requests can be sent through the Twitch channel. A registered legal entity and postal address will be added here when one exists.

If you create an account we store your email address, a display name, a handle, an optional avatar choice, and your XP, rank, achievements, votes and game scores. Sign in is handled by our authentication provider, which sets a session cookie and stores a session token in your browser so you stay signed in. Signing out clears it.

If you give us an email address for the mailing list, we store the address, the exact consent wording you were shown, the time you agreed, the source of the signup, a salted one-way hash of your IP address and your browser user-agent string. The raw IP address is never stored.

The consent record and the IP hash exist to prove consent and to stop the form being abused. Nothing else is done with them.

We run first-party analytics only. We record which of a small set of named events happened — a CTA click, a vote attempt, a signup, an email capture, a merch click, an arcade game start — with the page path, the referrer, any UTM tags in the URL and a random session id held in your browser for that session. No third-party analytics or advertising trackers run on this site. These records carry no name or email address.

The player and chat on this site are embedded from Twitch. The player only loads after you ask for it. Once it loads, Twitch sets its own cookies and receives your IP address directly. That is their processing under their policy, not ours.

Messages you send to the AI characters are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply and are stored with the conversation so the characters can remember the last few turns. Daily message limits are counted per account, or for signed-out visitors per salted IP hash. Do not put personal or sensitive information into those messages. Ask us and we will delete a conversation.

Buying is not done here. Merch links out to Fourthwall and tips link out to Ko-fi. Those companies are separate merchants of record with their own privacy policies. No payment details are ever entered on this site and we never receive your card details. We record that a merch link was clicked, not who you are on the other side of it.

Account data is kept while the account exists. Mailing list records are kept until you unsubscribe, and the consent record is kept afterwards as proof that consent existed. Analytics events and AI conversations are kept while they are useful; a fixed retention window has not been set yet and this section will be updated with a specific period when it is.

Unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, or at /unsubscribe. To get a copy of your data or to have your account and its data deleted, contact us and we will do it.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
